Hôtel71 serves as a toolbox for local stakeholders by offering support for cultural and media entrepreneurs, training for up-and-coming artists (classes, production, career development, residencies) and opportunities to become a part of collective movements and European projects (Erasmus+, Creative Europe MEDIA, networks of independent actors, mobility schemes, etc.).

Following a two-year launch phase in 2021 and 2022, Hôtel71’s incubator for up-and-coming media structures continues to evolve to better meet the needs of media entities and their editorial and audiovisual technology solutions. It has developed enhanced services, a pan-European perspective, training solutions, and new facilities in the form of office space and a recording studio for local structures.

→ In 2019, Hôtel71 was given the status of “Innovative Third Place” and awarded support by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). Since launching its support programmes, Arty Farty has also received funding from the French Ministry of Culture and the City of Lyon

→ The funding packages received from the Ministry of Culture and the City of Lyon complement one another, as they are intended to provide both support for up-and-coming media structures through the incubator and tools for the region’s independent cultural entities through services and signposting. It is all part of a shared, ongoing commitment to implementing the proposals set out by Arty Farty in its “Manifesto for cultural structures and independent media”, published in December 2020.
